4 places you must see if you’re a nature lover

January 8, 2016

Mother nature is an amazing thing that we are allowed to observe daily in its splendor, although some of us often miss this opportunity. Most of us need, from time to time, to get away from the crowded cities and find ourselves in a quiet place where we can relax and try to connect with the nature. Here are four of the most beautiful destinations you can choose!

1.Plitvice Lakes, Croatia

Plitvice Lakes

Try doing an internet search for this location. Everything looks amazing, doesn’t it? It almost looks like it’s not real, but it is. In reality, this amazing place looks exactly like it does in those photos you see online, if not better. Because it’s not just the image, it’s the vibe this place gives you. You are in the heart of nature itself, all you see around you is green leaves, plants and trees, perfectly aligning with the blue or turquoise of the water that’s being caressed by the sun. It may sound cliché, but it is a magical place.

You need at least 4 to 5 hours to explore the whole place and to give yourself time to really take it in. The 16 visible lakes are arranged in cascades; you’ll feel like everywhere you turn your head there will be a cascade. You will be able to see all kinds of fish, numerous interesting insects that you don’t see every day, ducks casually walking around the ponds and everything a nature lover can dream of. The lakes are far away from polluted and noisy cities or industrial plants.

If you decide to go there, keep in mind that the entrance is subject to variable charges, up to 180 kuna or around $32USD per adult in peak season. Also, bring sun lotion and a hat, comfortable shoes, a fully charged camera for all the amazing photos you are going to take and, preferably, a whole day off. It is worth it!

2.Bicaz Gorge, Romania
Bicaz Gorge

This is one of the most spectacular roads you will ever see. If you come here by car, it will definitely be a memorable drive: 8 kilometers of ravines, often in serpentines with rock on one side and a sheer drop on the other. Be patient and absorb the beauty of the landscapes; look all around you and you will be fascinated by the wildness of nature, maybe even feel some adrenaline, because this is definitely not your usual car ride.

If you’re looking for souvenirs, you can stop by near one of the many places filled with all kinds of handicrafts made by the locals. Wood, ceramic, fabric, wicker, anything you can think of.

Within the gorge, you will also find “Lacul Rosu” (The Red Lake). It is definitely worth stopping by to see the famous lake (situated at 980m altitude), admire the landscapes, take a couple of photos and just enjoy being surrounded by nature. In this area, you will also find traditional cabins, hotels, and probably anything a tourist needs.

3.Lapland, Finland

The perfect place for peopLaplandle who are not afraid of a little cold… or a lot of cold, depending on the season during which you plan your trip.
